January 22 , 2007 ------ HTUF e-UPDATE

HTUF Hosting 3 Meetings at Clean Heavy-Duty
Shuttle Bus and Plug-in Truck Workshops, Plus Fleet-Only Summit, on Feb 13

Building on the strong momentum from this year's Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF) National Meeting, HTUF will be holding three different meetings in conjunction with this year's Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle Conference, February 13-15, 2007 in Los Angeles, CA.
The HTUF meetings will take place in advance of the main conference on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The three meetings each target different topics identified as of high interest from this year's HTUF National Meeting:
- Hybrid Shuttle Bus Workshop (9 am - 3 pm)
- Plug-in Hybrid Electric Truck (PHET) Workshop (9 am - 3 pm)
- HTUF Fleet Summit
(4 - 6 pm, fleets only)

The Hybrid Shuttle Bus Workshop is really the kick-off meeting for the Hybrid Shuttle Bus Working Group of HTUF, and will explore the market size, barriers and opportunities of this segment which generally uses truck-based chassis for bus applications. The meeting is open to fleet operators and manufacturers, though there may be a private fleet session.

The Plug-in Hybrid Electric Truck (PHET) Workshop is very much a learning session to explore how the emerging interest in and technology for plug-in hybrids can be applied to medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and if it can, what is the market pathway that makes sense. The workshop is open to fleets, manufacturers, suppliers, regulators and others and will explore the barriers to plug-ins, their potential business case, and what next steps would be for the technology.

The HTUF Fleet Summit is a private, fleet-only meeting for truck and bus vehicle fleet users and operators to discuss the status of hybrid market introduction, unified actions for vehicle purchase and support and incentives and support funding. The meeting is open to fleets from all working groups and applications. Meeting is by invitation only, or by request. Contact Bill Van Amburg at bvanamburg@weststart.org.

We encourage you to attend both these meetings and the full 2007 Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle Conference. To attend these meetings, please click on the Workshop Registration link in this e-UPDATE (see blue border to left), or visit www.htuf.org and follow the links.
