High
Profile Actions at HTUF
Army Brigadier General Brown, EPA's
Zaw-Mon Two Latest HTUF Speakers
The
Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF) is pleased to announce two
new high profile speakers added to the agenda for the national
meeting Oct. 19-21: U.S. Army Brigadier General R. Mark Brown,
and Merrylin Zaw-Mon of the the Environmental Protection
Agency. Both speakers push along key areas of action in hybrids:
deployment and certification.
Brigadier General Brown, the deputy commanding general of
the Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command
(RDECOM), will talk about the Army's interest in hybrids
and new technology and its actions to plan for the military
use of these technologies. RDECOM oversees the activities
of all the Army's development labs.
Merrylin Zaw-Mon is the director of the Compliance and Innovative
Strategies Div. of EPA's Office of Transportation and Air
Quality. She will provide details on the EPA's nine-month
process to develop an emissions and performance testing protocol
for heavy-duty hybrid vehicles and will formally kick-off
the stakeholder process with a ceremony during HTUF.
Combined
with top experts from the Air Force, the Government of
Canada, the Department of Energy and details on commercial-path
products from leading manufacturers and suppliers, this
is shaping up as the most "packed" HTUF meeting
to date. It will also feature hybrid vehicles never before
seen by fleets, and the latest test data. If you have
not yet registered, please take a moment and do so now.
Hybrid momentum continues to grow! Look for an updated
agenda this week.

least three hybrid vehicles never before
seen by fleets, two featuring hydraulic
hybrid drivetrains.
