Gov. Schwarzenegger Highlights Plan to Spur Clean Technology Growth in California

January 12, 2010 in support of green tech in California.After touring Cobalt Biofuels, a Silicon Valley green-tech company, January 12 in Mountain View, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger highlighted his proposal to exempt the purchase of green-tech manufacturing equipment from the sales tax in his California Jobs Initiative, a legislative package that will create or retain at least 100,000 jobs announced in his State of the State address in early January. California Hybrid Truck, Bus Voucher Project Unveils ‘Californiahvip.org’ Website

California Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project logoA ground-breaking California project designed to spur the purchase and use of medium- and heavy-duty hybrids has officially launched with the unveiling of its informational website: www.californiahvip.org.  Californiahvip.org supports the California Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).  It will provide all HVIP details and requirements, and be the electronic portal used in 2010 to request vouchers that help pay for advanced, clean hybrid trucks and buses. Los Angeles MTA and CALSTART Team on Folding Bike Program

Plan will identify price discounts for bike use…

Pasadena, CA, September 1, 2009 -- The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“LACMTA”) and CALSTART are creating an implementation plan for the development of a folding bike subsidy program.  The program will provide price discounts for the purchase of a collapsible bike to use in conjunction with transit.  A major goal of the program is to motivate commuters to use a bicycle as a transit connector instead of a car.  This program will leverage the success, knowledge, and experience that CALSTART acquired in working with LACMTA on a similar project, MyGo-Pasadena, which subsidized the use of electric bicycles in lieu of single occupancy vehicles.  To learn more about this project, please contact Fred Silver, fsilver@calstart.org.
