2005 Target 2020 Conference Los Angeles, California
December 1
If left unchecked, California is expected to consume almost 25 billion gallons of gasoline per year by 2020 and almost 40 billion gallons per year by 2050. CALSTART held the 2020 Conference to draw attention to the reasons why petroleum consumption reduction is necessary, exploring current and emerging methods of petroleum consumption reduction technologies, and discussing the policies, techniques, and other issues related to achieving this goal. R. James Woolsey, the former Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, keynoted the event.
