ABOUT NYT-VIP

Introducing NYT-VIP

To promote clean air, energy independence and economic growth in New York, the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) in partnership with the New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Department of Transportation and CALSTART are launching the $19 million ‘First come – First served’ New York Truck – Voucher Incentive Program (NYT-VIP).  NYT-VIP comprises of three unique funds that provide voucher incentives for the purchase of alternative fuel vehicles and diesel emission control devices (DECDs) in New York. The first of these three funds are now available.

Voucher Incentives Now Available

NYT-VIP is currently accepting voucher requests through the New York State Electric Vehicle – Voucher Incentive Fund (NYSEV-VIF).  NYSEV-VIF provides $9 million in voucher incentives for the purchase of Class 3 to Class 8 All-Electric vehicles for public and private fleets that operate in New York’s 30 counties designated as non-attainment in 2012. Approved Vendors can apply for a voucher request and receive up to 80% of the incremental cost with a maximum of $60,000 per vehicle.

How NYT-VIP Works

NYT-VIP is designed to offer incentives using a simplified purchase voucher. The cost of the alternative fuel vehicle or DECD is reduced at the time of purchase. An “Approved Vendor”(dealer) requests a voucher for their fleet customer (Vehicle Purchaser) at the time of order and uses a pre-established voucher amount for each eligible vehicle or technology. Once the Vehicle Purchaser has received the new vehicle/technology, the Vendor is redeemed the full voucher amount.

Participate in NYT-VIP Today

Fleets, leased vehicle operators, original equipment manufacturers and vehicle and technology vendors are invited to visit the NYT-VIP website to learn how to participate and take advantage of the program’s excellent incentive offerings.

New York Truck – Voucher Incentive Program Informational Workshop Recap

Hosted By CALSTART Member, Frito Lay

Thanks to our member company Frito Lay, CALSTART in partnership with NYSERDA facilitated its first successful Informational Workshop for the New York Truck - Voucher Incentive Program (NYT-VIP) at Frito Lay’s Brooklyn location on Monday, September 9, 2013. Over 150 people participated in the half day program to learn about NYT-VIP’s excellent incentives, meandered through 21 vendor exhibits and witnessed a presentation on Frito Lay’s Business Best Practices on Alternative Fuel Vehicles. Manufacturers, vendors and fleets took part in meaningful discussions to explore partnership opportunities to advance clean vehicle technologies in New York through NYT-VIP. Much thanks to our friend and member company, Frito Lay, for being our gracious host.

Shown here, Patrick Bolton, Senior Project Manager with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)’s Clean Energy Research and Market Development - Transportation Program, speaks at the event. See below for more photos.
