About Fleet Action for Clean Transportation (FACT) Steering Committee 

CALSTART  has launched an initiative for our fleet members called the Fleet Action for Clean Transportation (FACT) Steering Committee. This initiative is designed to understand and present to industry the fleet perspective of what is required to advance the commercialization and global adoption of clean technologies, fuels and vehicles and best sustainable industry practices. FACT will play a key role through fleet community building, advocacy, and knowledge exchange. This fleet-only activity works by identifying the barriers and opportunities that fleets face when incorporating advanced technologies into their operations and will help shape CALSTART’s direction in achieving greater market penetration of these technologies.

This fleet-to-fleet “talk and do” brain trust utilizes fleet experience to foster meaningful communication and action with a broader fleet constituency. The first activity that grew out of the FACT was a Voice of the Customer meeting that was open to all CALSTART members, held on May 4, 2011. Additional opportunities to advance the purpose of the FACT  may take the form of webinars, workshops, meetings at CALSTART events - like the Green Truck Summit and/or the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF), or some other tool to meet needs that are identified through this process. It begins with our fleet members and their leadership in helping CALSTART move this activity forward. Our member fleets represent some of the largest vehicle counts as well as relatively small vehicle numbers and we seek input from the full range of our member fleets to fully understand their needs and challenges.
