Position Overview
CALSTART is seeking a highly motivated intern to support its mission in California and around the country. This is an exciting time for building the clean transportation technology industry and the opportunity to improve air quality, prevent climate change, and create jobs. The intern will play a key role in working with various CALSTART programs and its 180+ member companies. CALSTART is a national organization with multiple offices in several states.  This paid internship position will be based in the CALSTART solar powered headquarters in Pasadena, California. This temporary employment position is available throughout calendar year 2018 for up to 19 hours per week.

With more than 25 years of experience, CALSTART is recognized nationally and internationally as an effective industry catalyst organization. CALSTART’s member companies are diverse and include Tesla Motors, UPS, Ford, the Union of Concerned Scientists, Kenworth, General Motors, Southern California Gas and Southern California Edison. CALSTART focuses its work in four major initiatives: cars, buses, trucks (and non-road vehicles), and fuels. CALSTART advances each of these sectors by supporting technology development, assessing and validating new technologies and products, accelerating market growth by supporting clean vehicle incentive programs, providing policy guidance and implementation, and giving valued-added services to its member organizations. 

Ideal Candidate
Qualified candidates should have a passion for the environment and clean transportation sector, be highly motivated to learn about the industry, and apply their skills to various projects and tasks. The candidate must be a team player with strong communication and math skills, outstanding writing skills, and the capacity to amass new information quickly.  This internship opportunity is offered to students pursuing their Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, and Sciences or a related field at an accredited College/University.
